The process

How an inspection unfolds

From the quote request to the follow-up conversation, here is each of the steps and what is expected of you at each one.

Get your price in under 5 minutes

The form asks you about the type of building, its floor area and its year of construction, then shows the amount itemised — base price, applicable surcharges, taxes. You can go back at any point, and no payment is asked for at this stage.

We contact you to plan the inspection

Your quote reaches us at the same time as it reaches you. We get in touch to agree on a date and a time that suit you, and to check with you what access the visit will require.

We carry out the inspection on site

You are welcome to be there. That is the moment to ask your questions in front of the component concerned, which no report quite replaces.

Receive your report in under 72 hours

The digital report reaches you with its photographs and its observations ranked by importance. A follow-up conversation is included, to go over with you the points that deserve an explanation.

Do you need to be there?

It is not required, but it is strongly recommended. A report describes a finding; a visit lets us show you the component, explain why it matters and answer on the spot whatever worries you.

If you cannot be there, the report is just as complete and the follow-up conversation covers the important points. Simply let us know in advance so that access can be arranged.

How to prepare for the visit

A few details make the inspection easier and keep a component from staying out of reach — and therefore uninspected.

  • Clear the way to the electrical panel, the furnace and the water heater
  • Free up the access hatch to the attic and the crawl space
  • Arrange for the water, the electricity and the heating to be running
  • Clear the perimeter of the building as much as possible
  • Plan for pets to be present or kept away
  • Gather whatever documents you have on work already carried out

What the report contains

The report is digital and illustrated. Every observation comes with its photo, its location in the building and an indication of its importance, so that you can separate routine maintenance from what calls for prompt attention.

It also states what could not be verified on the day of the visit, and why — a component that is out of reach, under snow or concealed is flagged as such rather than passed over in silence.
